Memorandum of Agreement between USAIN and AgNIC

2003 Web site redesign.
2001

Signed a Partnership Agreement with the Riley Memorial Foundation to facilitate and enhance organizational cooperation by establishing formal affiliation between the Foundation and USAIN.

 

Participated on the National Agricultural Library's Director Interview Panel

2000

Member survey (pdf file 22KB - download Acobat Reader)

Memorandums of Agreement drafted and presented to the Agricultural Information Association for Australasia (AGRIAA) and to the Agriculture Network Information Center (AgNIC).

Service to the Profession Award established.

Results of AGRICOLA survey published.

AgNIC Interest Group formed.

1998 USAIN Web site established
1997

Bylaws and Rules and Procedures documents drafted.

First Action Plan developed based on member survey.

1996 Changing Information Environments Interest Group formed.
1995

USAIN/NEH Preservation Project first funded [followed by funding for Phase Two (1996), Phase Three (1998) and Phase Four (2000)].

Helped fund the fifth U.S./Central and Eastern European Agricultural Roundtable.

1993

"A National Preservation Program for Agricultural Literature" was written by Nancy Gwinn with assistance from the Advisory Panel on Preservation, U.S. Agricultural Information Network.

Social Issues Interest Group formed

USAIN-L was established as the listserv for the organization.

1992

Testimony before a U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee that led to the successful preservation of funding for the National Agricultural Library.

Advisory role in the National Agricultural Text Digitizing Project.

1991

Conference scholarship established for new librarians in the field of agriculture .

USAIN sponsored the "Preconference on National Preservation Planning" USAIN membership accepted the proposal from this conference to develop a "National Preservation Plan for the Historical Literature of Agriculture."

1990 Interest Groups formed: AGRICOLA, Collection Management, Document Delivery, and Rural Information.
1988 USAIN is created.
