Happy New Year from USAIN EC! Here is our recap of the January EC meeting.
We are beginning work on the 2026 budget. Please, IG Conveners and Committee Chairs, send any 2026 budget requests to the USAIN Treasurer, Hope Jansen.
Additionally, if you are an IG Convener or Committee Chair, please begin reviewing your sections of the Procedures and Rules as well as the Bylaws and send any suggested changes to Directors Emily MacKenzie and Bradley Brazzeal by February 1st.
Registration has opened for the 20th biennial USAIN 2026 Conference hosted by Virginia Tech, and we are VERY excited! The Conference Planning Committee is working on updating the website with hotel information very soon. Please keep an eye out for an announcement soon. Don’t forget that proposals for sessions and IGs are being accepted until Monday, January 12th.
The Nominations and Elections Committee has begun identifying potential candidates for the positions of President-Elect, Secretary, and three Directors. If you are interested in a leadership role, please contact Melody Royster to put your name forward. Alternatively, please feel free to reach out to our current President-Elect, Secretary, or any of our Directors to learn more about what serving on the USAIN EC entails.
In other news, we have begun updating our 2026-2029 Action Plan. We are using your responses from the membership survey to help identify USAIN’s next priorities. USAIN’s Action Plan outlines the goals that guide USAIN’s future direction and the ways we can accomplish those goals. We look forward to presenting it to the membership in late spring.
We are also working to determine the logistics for identifying a website manager to help keep the website and Google Workspace up to date. We hope to send out information about this position during the elections this spring.
Finally, don’t forget that the USAIN Town Hall will be held on January 27th at 2:30 p.m. Central time. This discussion is for active USAIN Members only and will review the results of a survey we emailed earlier this fall. Register at https://lsu.libcal.com/event/16000623 to attend.
