The United States Agricultural Information
Network (USAIN) is a member-focused organization that connects librarians and
other information professionals working in agriculture. As such, USAIN
- provides
a forum for discussion of issues in agriculture, food, natural resources
and the environment, sustainability, human ecology, and rural sociology
- takes
a leadership role in the formation of a national information policy as
related to these areas
- makes
recommendations to the National Agricultural Library (NAL) on agricultural
information matters and advocates for NAL, and
- promotes
cooperation and communication among its members and with other
organizations and individuals.
