Conference Hotel

We have two hotels booked for the conference.

The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center is located on the Virginia Tech (VT) Campus. Standard rooms are available for $154 per night, starting Sunday, 5/31/2026 through Wednesday, 6/03/2026. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and check-out is 11:00 a.m. The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center offers complimentary parking to all hotel guests in the lot located in front of the hotel.

Guests can call 540-231-8000 to make reservations or use the provided link for online group reservations. When calling, all guests must identify themselves as a member of the group to obtain the group’s rate. Hotel will accept reservations from attendees after the cut-off date, and/or for dates up to 7 days before or after the event dates, only on a space- and rate-available basis.

Hilton Garden Inn Blacksburg-University is located just off campus. Standard rooms are available for $109 per night, starting Sunday, 5/31/2026 through Thursday, 6/04/2026. Check-in time is 3 p.m., and check-out is 11 a.m. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and parking.

Flights

Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA)

Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA) is the closest airport to Virginia Tech.  Connections can be made through several East Coast hubs, including Atlanta (ATL), New York LaGuardia (LGA), Philadelphia (PHI), Charlotte (CLT), Washington Dulles (IAD), and Chicago O'Hare (ORD).

Local transportation from Roanoke to Blacksburg

• The SmartWay Bus from Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport to Blacksburg is only $4 each way. It runs every hour from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the trip takes about an hour.
•  Rental Cars are also available at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional airport. The VT campus is a 40 mile, 45 minute drive from the airport.

Charlotte

Charlotte International Airport, in Charlotte, NC, has direct flights and is about 2 hrs and 45 minutes from Blacksburg by car.

GROUND TRAVEL

Car

Blacksburg is situated about 7 miles off Interstate 81, one of the major highways serving the eastern United States. You will take US 460 West when coming from this interstate.

If you are coming from Interstate 77, you will take US 460 East for approximately 50 miles. 

Train

While Blacksburg itself does not have a train station, nearby cities provide rail access.

Amtrak Stations:

• The closest Amtrak station is in Roanoke, about 40 miles away.
•  Amtrak's Northeast Regional service connects Roanoke to major cities such as Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City.

Bus

Blacksburg Transit provides public transportation in the area. It is Fare-Free on all vehicles. Fares, ID's or passes are not required. This applies to all services in Blacksburg and Christiansburg, including BT Access and Go Anywhere.  The organization has been named one of the 10 best small transit systems in North America.
