Conference Scholarship for Members New to USAIN or Agriultural Information

Two $1000.00 scholarships to be applied to the costs of attending the USAIN 2020 conference are available to library school graduates who are USAIN members new to the field of agricultural information (less than three years) or first time USAIN Conference attendees. The conference will be held April 26-30, 2020 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  Additional conference information is available at: https://usain.org/2020-meeting

To apply, submit the following:

  • A cover letter including name, address, e-mail address, and phone number along with job title/description, place of employment and length of time spent in the agricultural information field, and/or a statement as a first-time attendee.
  • An essay in a separate document.  The essay should be double-spaced, no more than 750 words, and address the 2020 conference theme: “Smart Agriculture in the Era of Climate Change.”

Essays will be judged on the basis of thoughtfulness, quality of writing, and adherence to application guidelines as described above.  Checks will be presented to the recipients at the USAIN Awards ceremony at the Conference. USAIN reserves the right to withhold the award if there are no suitable applicants.

Deadline is January 15, 2020.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by January 31, 2020.
