Conference Scholarship for Librarians Representing Historically Black Colleges and Universities

One $2000.00 scholarship to be applied to the costs of attending the USAIN 2020 conference is available to agricultural/science librarians who represent Historically Black Colleges and Universities that are land grant universities. The conference will be held April 26-30, 2020 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  Additional conference information is available at:

To apply, submit the following:

  • A cover letter including name, address, e-mail address, and phone number along with job title/description, place of employment and length of time spent in the agricultural information field, and a brief explanation of why you are interested in attending the USAIN conference.
  • An essay in a separate document.  The essay should be double-spaced, no more than 750 words, and address the 2020 conference theme: “Smart Agriculture in the Era of Climate Change.”

Essays will be judged on the basis of thoughtfulness, quality of writing, and adherence to application guidelines as described above. A check will be presented to the recipient at the USAIN Awards ceremony at the Conference. USAIN reserves the right to withhold the awards if there are no suitable applicants.
