Conference Scholarship for Librarians Representing Historically Black Colleges and Universities:

Conference scholarships are available for New Members of USAIN (within last 3years) or first-time in-person conference attendees, LIS graduate students, and librarians/staff at HBCUs or Tribal Colleges. Recipients must be an active USAIN Member (https://usain.org/join-us).      

Conference scholarships are available up to $2,000 to be applied to the costs of in-person attendance at the conference.  

To apply, submit a 2–3 minute video or 500-word (double-spaced) essay answering the following questions: 

What do you expect to get from the conference experience that may apply to your employment or education?   

Address the conference theme: Growing Together, Branching Out (https://usaindemo.wildapricot.org/2024-Meeting) 

Submit your application and estimated budget by email. Include your name, phone number, job title/description, place of employment and length of time spent in the agricultural information field and list the last USAIN conference you attended in person, if any.   

Videos and/or essays will be judged based on thoughtfulness, creativity, quality of writing, and adherence to application guidelines as described above. 

Award recipients agree to write a reflection of their conference experience. The written reflection will be submitted to the Awards & Honors Committee for approval. It may be posted to USAIN’s social media, website, listserv, or included in other USAIN outreach.

Checks will be presented to the recipients following the USAIN Awards Ceremony at the Conference. USAIN reserves the right to withhold the awards if there are no suitable applicants. 

Deadline is March 15, 2024. 

Scholarship recipients will be notified by March 29, 2024.
